Thank you for visiting our TEAM SUPERGRAEME Congenital Heart Walk fundraising page. Did you know that 1 in 110 babies is born with a congenital heart defect? And, that more babies die from CHDs than all childhood cancers combined? It's also severely UNDERFUNDED.
We didn't know any of this either, until Graeme was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect. CHDs do not discriminate - it can happen to anyone, and there is no known cause. There is also no cure, which is why funding is so important!!! Funding leads to RESEARCH and research leads to medical BREAKTHROUGHS!
Graeme was born in December 2012 with transposition of the great arteries (TGA), a VSD, and pulmonary stenosis. He has had two open-heart surgeries with Dr. Spray, and we are forever grateful to him, our cardiologist Dr. Szwast, and the entire CHOP team. Parts of Graeme's heart (the conduit) won't grow with him, and he will need that replaced as he gets bigger.
You would never know, though, that Graeme has a heart condition. He is a wild, feisty, silly little 4-year old!!! We hope that modern medicine will help him stay that way.
To join our team or make a donation, please use the button on this page. The walk will be held on SUNDAY, JUNE 4 at 9:45 AM, at WILSON FARM PARK in WAYNE, PA! The money raised will go toward local research that will help Graeme live a long, healthy, and happy life.
Not all superheros fight their battles on the outside.
