Welcome to My Personal Page
Robert Hunter Rodriguez was born November 24, 2014 with HLHS. With no detection of Robert Hunters condition while pregnant this was a shock to his father and I. About 12 hours after Robert was born he was flown to Houston's Texas Children's Hospital where at just 8 days old he underwent his first open heart surgery. Despite the fast recovery and great progress Robert had made after his first surgery he remained in the hospital in the CVICU for various reasons. He underwent his 2nd open heart surgery at 3 and a half months. The recovery from this surgery was not as fast as his first and definitely not as smooth. Robert fell into Resperatory distress about 6 hours after surgery and it took him about a week or so to recover. He then started having sezuiers where he had several test done showing he had a minor stroke, the sezuiers were controlled and thankful Robert has been sezuier free since March 2015. At the end of April 2015 Robert Hunter had a GJ tube placed to help with his feedings, and by May of 2015 with great Joy in our hearts we were heading home with our little miracle. His entire 5 and a half month stay at Texas Children's Hospital was spent in the CVICU except the last week before discharge. Today Robert Hunter is a strong, healthy, running, walking, smiling, laughing, not talking.... yet, loving little (BIG) almost 3 year old. His is expected to have his 3rd and hopefully last open heart surgery at the end of 2018. Thank you all in advance. May God Bless You abundantly! Robert Hunter, Eileen, and Chip Rodriguez
