Reid Edwards is a CHD Warrior!
Thank you for visiting Reid Edwards' Congenital Heart Walk personal fundraising page!
At 3-months old, Reid was diagnosed with the congenital heart defect (CHD): ALCAPA (Anomalous Left Coronary Artery from the Pulmonary Artery). After immediate open heart surgery to repair his broken heart, Reid spent a month in the PICU. During this time, he never stopped fighting, never lost his spirit - he was the Muhammad Ali of ALCAPA!
On Saturday, October 20, we will walk to celebrate the brave tenacity in Reid and his triumph over ALCAPA. We also walk to support other CHD families who have been battle-tested, seen heartache, and prevailed. Our hearts all beat in support of CHD warriors and their loved ones!
Donations raised will go to The Children’s Heart Foundation and the Adult Congenital Heart Association to benefit CHD research and programs. For last year's inagural CHD walk, Reid's team, ALPACA PUNCH, raised $1,020 and won second-place in the t-shirt contest! The love and support we receive from our friends and family is palpable! Thank you & XO to all. :)
Reid 2018 Update: A goofy tornado that leaves joy and positivity in his path. Slows down only for hugs and strawberry limeades. Rarely seen without a smile or a train in his clutches. Favorite song is 'Thunderstruck' by AC/DC. Still currently takes medications twice a day, but his pumper is strong and steadfast! A gentle soul with a thriving heart.
