2018 Southeast Michigan

Team Jarred

I have started Team Jarred in honor of our son Jarred that passed away in August 2016. At my 22 week anatomy scan he was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. After many months of scans and tests Jarred made his debut on August 9th! immediatly after he was born he was placed on oxygen, and shortly after he was placed on a ventilator. Along with his HLHS Jarred was also diagnosed with Potters Syndrome, and under developed lungs (Pulmonary Hypoplasia). Due to this, there was nothing the doctors could do for him. After 32 hours we made the impossible decision to remove the ventilator. The pain of losing a child is somthing nobody should have to go through. My hope is that one day they will find a way to prevent congenital heart defects, but that cannot happen if there isn't funding for research. If you would like to become a part of Team Jarred and help raise funds and walk with us on September 22nd please join our team! If you cant join but would like to make a donation towards the fundraiser please go to the 2018 Southeast Michigan Congenital Heart Walk page and click on the donate button.  Thank you for visiting our Congenital Heart Walk team fundraising page, and thank you for your support!
